This limited edition, archival inkjet print features a Jim Flora illustration for a Lord Buckley album entitled Hipsters, Flipsters, and Finger-Poppin' Daddies, Knock Me Your Lobes, which was released on RCA Victor in 1955. Vintage copies of the LP (which was packaged in a 10" sleeve) are rare and fetch high prices from collectors (fans of both Lord Buckley and Flora).
This gorgeous print, made possible by the great material in the Flora archive and the skill of its guardians, gives album art fans the chance to see the illustration in all its splendour and Hypergallery has the LAST ONE available on the primary market.
Produced in 2007 by Flora archivist Barbara Economon, the print was meticulously and painstakingly crafted from a mint-condition artist's proof sheet of the Buckley cover in the Flora collection. It was published by Flora's estate, using a beautiful heavyweight rag paper by Hahnemühle, and we are very excited to be able to offer it for sale here.
Each print is numbered in pencil and authenticated with a publisher's seal on the reverse. This is the last available print, numbered 5/10.
