This limited edition archival inkjet print features an impressive and faithful reproduction of the original relief painting/papercut work by Gregory Euclid.
Euclide created the painting for the cover artwork of Bon Iver, Bon Iver - the second studio album from American indie folk band Bon Iver, released in 2011. It is a fitting album cover artwork; a surreal and ephemeral landscape containing an experimental and impressionistic album. It also, perhaps refers, gently, back to Justin Vernon's debut Bon Iver album, For Emma, Forever Ago, which was largely recorded in a remote and snowy Wisconsin cabin over four months and has gained a somewhat mythical status. Talking to Pitchfork in 2011, Euclide said of Justin Vernon:
There is so much more to Euclide's work than first meets the eye, and this print truly captures the detail from that original painting that allows us to delve right in and beyond the first glance.
