This De La Soul original print is the result of a meticulous reworking of the original photography for the 3 Feet High and Rising LP sleeve, alongside the original sketched proposal made by the Grey Organisation to Tommy Boy Records. The spirit of the cover art design is revived in glorious day-glo and the result is an artist print that transports us back to the Daisy Age with one glance. The print, just like the original artwork, is the product of a two stage process worked on by the artist along with two different print-makers: the faces of Plug 1, 2 and 3 were printed in archival inkjet to achieved a clean b&w photographic image, over which the cartoon-like illustration has been hand-pulled. We knew we needed to capture the day-glo spirit of the original design but fluorescent inks simply aren't available for inkjet so we turned to Lynne at Hippo Screenprinters in Essex who was the perfect match for this project. She produced the most outstanding edition from Toby Mott's artwork; the hand pulled printing mirrors the feel of the cover design and more to the point, of that original sketch submitted to Tommy Boy records by the Grey Organisation. Each print has been embossed with the official stamp of the Grey Organisation. |

The very nature of a limited edition print is that it is limited, forever, to the total number detailed in the original edition. If your print is number 70 of 295 then it really is just that: the 70th numbered print in a total edition of 295.
There will also be Artists Proofs (APs) numbering up to a maximum of 10% of the edition, and sometimes Printer’s Proofs (PPs) which are usually kept by the printer, or Hors Commerce prints (HCs) which are used by the publisher for promotional purposes.
Sometimes limited editions are published at different sizes. This is OK, as long as the sizes are distinctly different and they should be published at the same time.

CARING FOR YOUR PRINT
We will wrap your print in acid-free tissue paper and ship it to you in a sturdy cardboard tube. When you take your print out of the tube it is a good idea to let it uncurl overnight on a flat surface before handling it. This will give the paper a chance to lose some of its springiness and make it much easier for you to handle. Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.
DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT
We recommend that you frame your print behind conservation quality glass or acrylic (most framers will offer this as standard) and make sure you use archival quality mount board. This way, your print will be free from any materials that might cause it damage.
UK orders will be dispatched by either Royal Mail First Class post, Special Delivery or by courier. Orders to the rest of the world are dispatched by Airmail or by Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed. Royal Mail’s service is a little slower than FedEx and other couriers, but is the only way, at present, for us to guarantee that our prints are actually delivered to a human and signed for. In all cases, a contribution towards the packing and consignment cost will be added to your order and calculated at checkout.
Responsibility for the print lies with us until you receive and sign for it* and for this reason we insist on sending items over £150 by insured, sign-for shipping. All of our print shipments require signature upon delivery so please check the condition of the packaging before accepting it.

50,000,000 fans but only 175 prints! This limited edition archival inkjet print celebrates Elvis' gold lame suit by famous Hollywood tailor Nudie Cohen, now on display at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Elvis Presley™'s album covers weren't known for their creativity but this cover by then RCA Art Director Bob Jones was an exception. Replicating the photograph at different sizes was a departure from the strict guidelines laid down by Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker. We knew that to do the artwork justice these prints had to be something really special and the printers (Senecio, Oxford, UK) have produced something truly fit for the king. Tongue-in-cheek title aside, this short-but-sweet compilation makes a convincing case for latter-day Pink Floyd as solid students of rock-pop song craft. Pink Floyd are not known for making particularly dance-able music. This image, designed by Hipgnosis under the pseudonym T.C.P. (Thorgerson, Christopherson and Powell) is perhaps a little play on that, featuring ballroom dancers guyed to the ground so they cannot move. This is a jewel in the crown of a phenomenal catalogue from Ferris, the originator of psychedelic photography. This will give the paper a chance to lose some of its springiness and make it much easier for you to handle. Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.
DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT
We recommend that you frame your print behind conservation quality glass or acrylic (most framers will offer this as standard) and make sure you use archival quality mount board. This way, your print will be free from any materials that might cause it damage.

Orders to the rest of the world are dispatched by Airmail or by Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed. The Momentary Lapse of Reason limited edition print was one of the very first selection of Pink Floyd album cover designs to be revisited and re-envisaged as an art print by Storm Thorgerson at the very beginning of this century. The photograph was originally taken for the album cover of Pink Floyd's A Momentary Lapse of Reason, which hit the No.3 spot on Billboard in October 1987. The idea was to reflect the line of lyric "visions of an empty bed" by becoming one huge vision of many empty beds; hundreds of beds stretching across the landscape at the behest of master visionary, Storm Thorgerson. Storm wanted a particular kind of bed: Victorian, wrought iron, hospital type beds; beds for patients, beds for mad people, beds for dreamers. 700 of these beds in all were taken on two trucks to Saunton Sands in Devon, England, and put on the beach one by one, complete with bedding, and arranged in the shape of a river; a river bed. This is an archival inkjet edition of 295 on a Somerset tub paper; a wonderful record of a legendary event. |

This will give the paper a chance to lose some of its springiness and make it much easier for you to handle. Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.
DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT
We recommend that you frame your print behind conservation quality glass or acrylic (most framers will offer this as standard) and make sure you use archival quality mount board. This way, your print will be free from any materials that might cause it damage.
UK orders will be dispatched by either Royal Mail First Class post, Special Delivery or by courier. Orders to the rest of the world are dispatched by Airmail or by Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed. AGBI Bicentenary Print

This archival inkjet print celebrates the bicentenary of the Artists’ General Benevolent Institution (AGBI). Profits from the sale of the Print will go to the AGBI to support artists who can no longer work due to accident, illness or old age. This limited edition comprises 50 numbered copies for sale to the public of which on 15 now remain. In addition, 42 proof copies were numbered in roman numerals and gifted to each artist who contributed work. Each print is signed in pencil by all the contributing artists. In addition there is one B.A.T. copy for the AGBI archive, one H/C for the Chelsea Arts Club collection, and one H/c printer’s proof. The Artists’ General Benevolent Institution (AGBI) was founded by J.M.W. Turner in 1814 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1842, it is one of the oldest charities in the United Kingdom. The AGBI financially supports professional artists in need living in England, Wales and Northern Ireland who cannot work or earn due to accident, illness or older age. This Klimperei album cover design is a stunning inkjet print published in early 2015 to mark the 150th anniversary of Louis Carroll’s book. The artwork is by Alfreda Benge who is best known for her collaborative work with Robert Wyatt. This album cover was created for the French group Klimperei’s Alice in Wonderlands album, in 2000. The group, led by Christophe Petchanatz, specialise in ‘toy music’ – short, minimal instrumentals in the manner of Erik Satie or Nino Rota. Alice was a natural inspiration for the group and having Alfie do the cover was an inspiration. This is a beautiful vibrant print of a hipster White Rabbit showing Alice some dance steps, backed by the jazz playing duo of Humpty Dumpty and the Cheshire Cat. The Animals limited edition print was one of the very first selection of Pink Floyd album cover designs to be revisited and re-envisaged as an art print by Storm Thorgerson at the very beginning of this century. It is a stunning, richly coloured silkscreen print which honours both a keystone moment of Pink Floyd and Hipgnosis history, and a landmark building which has secured a fond place in the hearts of Londoners old and young. The inflatable pig was about 30ft long and 20ft high, and it was brought on site, to the wonderful 1920s architecture of Battersea Power Station by the River Thames, just upstream from the Houses Of Parliament. On day one the pig remained on the ground, neither inflated nor elevated. The initially reluctant pig made a rash break for freedom in the blue yonder on day two. Up from the power station and into the flight path to Heathrow Airport went the animal, en route for the media headlines and home in time for tea. Retrieved from a Kent farm and its bacon saved, the pig again faced the photographers and a film crew, now with a helicopter ready. The finished artwork comprised a real inflatable pig in position on day three, with a real background from day one, when the sky was at hits most dramatic. Storm Thorgerson remembered:

Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.

LIMITED EDITION PRINTS
The very nature of a limited edition print is that it is limited, forever, to the total number detailed in the original edition. If your print is number 70 of 295 then it really is just that: the 70th numbered print in a total edition of 295.
There will also be Artists Proofs (APs) numbering up to a maximum of 10% of the edition, and sometimes Printer’s Proofs (PPs) which are usually kept by the printer, or Hors Commerce prints (HCs) which are used by the publisher for promotional purposes.
Sometimes limited editions are published at different sizes. This is OK, as long as the sizes are distinctly different and they should be published at the same time.
ARTIST/PRINTERS PROOFS
An artist's proof in modern practice is usually used to describe an impression of the finished work that is identical to the numbered copies. There can also be printer's proofs which are taken for the printer to see how the image is printing, or are final impressions the printer is allowed to keep but normally the term "artist's proof" would cover both cases.
Artist's proofs are not included in the count of a limited edition, and they belong to the artist. By convention, the artist is not supposed to sell these at once.
COPYRIGHT
In most cases, if an album cover is a photograph then the photographer will own the copyright. Design work is a little more complicated and depends entirely on the contract drawn up at the time of the creation of the art.
Hypergallery doesn’t own the copyright to any of our prints, but in all cases we ensure that we have the permission of the copyright holder to produce the prints.
ATTRIBUTION
In many cases the creation of an album cover is a collaborative affair. Many album covers designs are attributed to artists who haven’t been directly involved in creating and signing the prints and we aim to make this as transparent and clear as possible in the product details.
ARCHIVAL INKJETS
Archival inkjet printing is also commonly referred to as Giclée. It denotes the high-quality ink-jet printing process which uses fade resistant, archival inks and archival substrates on large format printers to produce fine art prints.
Similarly, the term serigraph has been used to describe artistic use of the silkscreen process.
ARTISTIC ENHANCEMENT
With only a few unavoidable exceptions (when the artist is no longer alive) the prints sold by Hypergallery have been conceived, created, approved and signed by the artist themselves. In many cases the prints look quite different from the original album cover as we give the artist the chance to revisit their original artwork and rework it specifically as a print, without the restrictions of producing it as a mass market album cover.
COST
The value of a print increases as the edition sells out. You may see some prints on sale at a much higher price than others in the same collection and this will usually mean that less of these prints remain available on the primary market. It might also mean that a print has been signed by the musician as well as the artist - for this reason sometimes you may see exactly the same print available at two different prices.
CARING FOR YOUR PRINT
We will wrap your print in acid-free tissue paper and ship it to you in a sturdy cardboard tube. When you take your print out of the tube it is a good idea to let it uncurl overnight on a flat surface before handling it. This will give the paper a chance to lose some of its springiness and make it much easier for you to handle. Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.
DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT
We recommend that you frame your print behind conservation quality glass or acrylic (most framers will offer this as standard) and make sure you use archival quality mount board. This way, your print will be free from any materials that might cause it damage.
UK orders will be dispatched by either Royal Mail First Class post, Special Delivery or by courier. Orders to the rest of the world are dispatched by Airmail or by Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed. Royal Mail’s service is a little slower than FedEx and other couriers, but is the only way, at present, for us to guarantee that our prints are actually delivered to a human and signed for. In all cases, a contribution towards the packing and consignment cost will be added to your order and calculated at checkout.
Responsibility for the print lies with us until you receive and sign for it* and for this reason we insist on sending items over £150 by insured, sign-for shipping. All of our print shipments require signature upon delivery so please check the condition of the packaging before accepting it.
*If you have an agreement in place whereby delivery services are to leave parcels without obtaining a signature, as is often the case in the USA, our instruction for them to obtain a signature will be overridden. In these cases responsibility for the print lies with us until it has been recorded as delivered 'as authorised by' your agreement.
COPYRIGHT
All artwork reproduced on the site is the copyright of the respective owners who reserve all their rights. Any use of these images, including reproduction, modification, distribution or transmission is strictly forbidden unless the owners of the copyright give express permission. If your use of an image from our website is covered by Fair Use, we would appreciate it if you would correctly attribute the artist and our website and drop us a line to let us know - we can probably share a link in return.

Sales to non-UK customers where the delivery is outside the UK will include a full commercial invoice to aid customs clearance on importation to the destination country. Local duties and taxes may be charged at that stage and are payable by the customer. We will endeavour to help predict these costs where possible and help our customers who are not accustomed to dealing with import duties, especially now that this has become necessary in Europe thanks to the UK's departure from the EU.

FRAMING
Prints come unframed. Measurements on product pages are approximate and frames should not be ordered based on these measurements. If you would like us to give you a mm accurate measurement please drop us a line.
RETURNS / REFUNDS
We take great care to ensure that your goods are delivered to you in perfect condition, so please do not accept delivery if there is obvious damage to the packaging. If you sign for the goods you are accepting delivery in perfect condition and the shipping agent cannot be held responsible for any damage.
If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you may return it for full refund of the cost of the artwork on the following conditions: You must notify us in advance and within 7 days that you wish to return the artwork. You can do this by email or by phone. The artwork must be returned in its original packaging and undamaged within 7 days of your notification. This archival inkjet print shows the back cover photograph from the famous Jimi Hendrix album cover shot for Are You Experienced, often regarded as the greatest debut album of all time. The print was produced and published by Karl Ferris, who was personal photographer to Hendrix. This famous 'Group Halo' shot was taken in Ferris' Hampstead Studio in London in 1967. After seeing Hendrix with his hair combed away from the scalp, Ferris requested that Jimi wear it that way during the photo shoot. Hendrix's girlfriend, Kathy Etchingham, trimmed his hair to improve its symmetry, forming an afro. Redding and Mitchell liked Hendrix's new hairstyle, so Ferris hired a hairdresser to style their hair in a similar fashion and so that became the basis of the whole look for that ‘Experience’ era.
