Regular price $619.00 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 120): Computation results in '-Infinity'%
Published in 2010, this limited edition silkscreen print is a wonderful piece of visual art for fans of Jean Michelle Jarre's pioneering electro sythesiser music. He is celebrated for his seminal albums such as Equinoxe and Oxygene, as well as for his stunning light and laser shows. We are delighted to be able to offer this artwork by renowned French artist Michel Granger, whose original painting, Le Trac, became the cover artwork for Equinoxe, an extraordinary album, back in 1978. Equinoxe was soon followed by a concert on the Place de la Concorde, Paris on July 14 1979. The concert attracted one million people, becoming Jean Michel Jarre's first entry in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest crowd for an outdoor concert. Quite an achievement. This edition was printed in silkscreen and archival inkjet onto a beautiful Hahnemühle paper. Each print is numbered and signed in pencil by the artist. |
Signed by: Michel Granger Image size: 21.5 x 19 inches / Paper size: 28.5 x 21.5 inches Edition size: 195 Print type: Silkscreen and Archival Inkjet (Giclée) |
All the artwork published, printed or marketed by Hypergallery is of the highest quality. All artwork is printed on the finest paper stock by renowned and experience printers using traditional or modern techniques. They will either be signed by the artist or embossed with authentication.

LIMITED EDITION PRINTS
The very nature of a limited edition print is that it is limited, forever, to the total number detailed in the original edition. If your print is number 70 of 295 then it really is just that: the 70th numbered print in a total edition of 295.
There will also be Artists Proofs (APs) numbering up to a maximum of 10% of the edition, and sometimes Printer’s Proofs (PPs) which are usually kept by the printer, or Hors Commerce prints (HCs) which are used by the publisher for promotional purposes.
Sometimes limited editions are published at different sizes. This is OK, as long as the sizes are distinctly different and they should be published at the same time.
ARTIST/PRINTERS PROOFS
An artist's proof in modern practice is usually used to describe an impression of the finished work that is identical to the numbered copies. There can also be printer's proofs which are taken for the printer to see how the image is printing, or are final impressions the printer is allowed to keep but normally the term "artist's proof" would cover both cases.
Artist's proofs are not included in the count of a limited edition, and they belong to the artist. By convention, the artist is not supposed to sell these at once.
COPYRIGHT
In most cases, if an album cover is a photograph then the photographer will own the copyright. Design work is a little more complicated and depends entirely on the contract drawn up at the time of the creation of the art.
Hypergallery doesn’t own the copyright to any of our prints, but in all cases we ensure that we have the permission of the copyright holder to produce the prints.
ATTRIBUTION
In many cases the creation of an album cover is a collaborative affair. Many album covers designs are attributed to artists who haven’t been directly involved in creating and signing the prints and we aim to make this as transparent and clear as possible in the product details.
ARCHIVAL INKJETS
Archival inkjet printing is also commonly referred to as Giclée. It denotes the high-quality ink-jet printing process which uses fade resistant, archival inks and archival substrates on large format printers to produce fine art prints.
Similarly, the term serigraph has been used to describe artistic use of the silkscreen process.
ARTISTIC ENHANCEMENT
With only a few unavoidable exceptions (when the artist is no longer alive) the prints sold by Hypergallery have been conceived, created, approved and signed by the artist themselves. In many cases the prints look quite different from the original album cover as we give the artist the chance to revisit their original artwork and rework it specifically as a print, without the restrictions of producing it as a mass market album cover.
COST
The value of a print increases as the edition sells out. You may see some prints on sale at a much higher price than others in the same collection and this will usually mean that less of these prints remain available on the primary market. It might also mean that a print has been signed by the musician as well as the artist - for this reason sometimes you may see exactly the same print available at two different prices.
CARING FOR YOUR PRINT
We will wrap your print in acid-free tissue paper and ship it to you in a sturdy cardboard tube. When you take your print out of the tube it is a good idea to let it uncurl overnight on a flat surface before handling it. This will give the paper a chance to lose some of its springiness and make it much easier for you to handle. Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.
DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT
We recommend that you frame your print behind conservation quality glass or acrylic (most framers will offer this as standard) and make sure you use archival quality mount board. This way, your print will be free from any materials that might cause it damage.
UK orders will be dispatched by either Royal Mail First Class post, Special Delivery or by courier. Orders to the rest of the world are dispatched by Airmail or by international courier. In all cases, a contribution towards the packing and consignment cost will be added to your order and calculated at checkout.
Responsibility for the print lies with us until you receive and sign for it* and for this reason we insist on sending items over £150 by insured, sign-for shipping. All of our print shipments require signature upon delivery so please check the condition of the packaging before accepting it.
*If you have an agreement in place whereby delivery services are to leave parcels without obtaining a signature, as is often the case in the USA, our instruction for them to obtain a signature will be overridden. In these cases responsibility for the print lies with us until it has been recorded as delivered 'as authorised by' your agreement.

This limited edition, archival inkjet print features a Jim Flora illustration for a Lord Buckley album entitled Hipsters, Flipsters, and Finger-Poppin' Daddies, Knock Me Your Lobes, which was released on RCA Victor in 1955. Vintage copies of the LP (which was packaged in a 10" sleeve) are rare and fetch high prices from collectors (fans of both Lord Buckley and Flora). This gorgeous print, made possible by the great material in the Flora archive and the skill of its guardians, gives album art fans the chance to see the illustration in all its splendour and Hypergallery has the LAST ONE available on the primary market. Produced in 2007 by Flora archivist Barbara Economon, the print was meticulously and painstakingly crafted from a mint-condition artist's proof sheet of the Buckley cover in the Flora collection. It was published by Flora's estate, using a beautiful heavyweight rag paper by Hahnemühle, and we are very excited to be able to offer it for sale here. |
Each print is numbered in pencil and authenticated with a publisher's seal on the reverse. This is the last available print, numbered 5/10. Image size: 12 x 12 inches / Paper size: 13 x 19 inches Edition size: 10 Print type: Archival Inkjet (Giclée) |

3 Feet High and Rising
Regular price $600.00 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 120): Computation results in '-Infinity'%
This De La Soul original print is the result of a meticulous reworking of the original photography for the 3 Feet High and Rising LP sleeve, alongside the original sketched proposal made by the Grey Organisation to Tommy Boy Records. The spirit of the cover art design is revived in glorious day-glo and the result is an artist print that transports us back to the Daisy Age with one glance. The print, just like the original artwork, is the product of a two stage process worked on by the artist along with two different print-makers: the faces of Plug 1, 2 and 3 were printed in archival inkjet to achieved a clean b&w photographic image, over which the cartoon-like illustration has been hand-pulled. We knew we needed to capture the day-glo spirit of the original design but fluorescent inks simply aren't available for inkjet so we turned to Lynne at Hippo Screenprinters in Essex who was the perfect match for this project. She produced the most outstanding edition from Toby Mott's artwork; the hand pulled printing mirrors the feel of the cover design and more to the point, of that original sketch submitted to Tommy Boy records by the Grey Organisation. Each print has been embossed with the official stamp of the Grey Organisation. |
Signed by: Toby Mott Image size: 20 x 20 inches / Paper size: 25.5 x 26.5 inches Edition size: 60 Print type: Silkscreen over Archival Inkjet (Giclée)

Over 30 years after its release, 3 Feet High and Rising remains one of the most feted albums in the hip hop canon. This unique LP emerged in 1989 amidst the burgeoning US hip-hop scene. |

Urban Hymns
Regular price $563.00 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 120): Computation results in '-Infinity'%
This archival inkjet print celebrates the 20th Anniversary of The Verve's beautiful and epic third album, Urban Hymns. It follows the popularity of his Be Here Now, Definitely Maybe and (What's The Story) Morning Glory? trilogy of prints. The cover shot was taken on a 35mm Contax with a Carl Zeiss 15mm corrected fisheye lens in Richmond Park, London. Michael was one of two photographers hired for the day and this image shows the band waiting while his fellow British photographer, Chris Floyd, was setting up for the main shoot. As with so much great art and photography, the best image was the one that came from a happy accident, with The Verve portrayed in a natural pose, relaxed and at one. The band liked it too, and it was they who chose the photograph to grace the cover of their most important album, which was released on September 29th 1997. This edition of prints is a perfect way to celebrate that moment in musical history. Printed on Hahnemühle paper, every print comes with its own Hahnemühle Certificate of Authenticity and is embossed with artist's mark. |

Transmissions
Regular price $563.00 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 120): Computation results in '-Infinity'%
This limited edition silkscreen features the album cover artwork created by Storm Thorgerson and StormStudios for Transmissions, the 1988 album by Gentlemen Without Weapons (Kenny Young, Nick Glennie-Smith and Vic Coppersmith-Heaven) which was made using digitally sampled natural sounds and no musical instruments. The production of this photograph was one of those occasions on which Storm's avowed policy of doing it for real turns out to be a real nightmare of an event. Televators called for huge wooden telegraph poles, bulldozers, pile drivers and teams of helpers to erect the poles in conditions which were, according to Storm.
And there they are sitting atop their poles, stretched out across the landscape transmitting their message skywards. Mental transmissions form a line of thread like beacons of old, receivable at a distance, the message free from ground interference, free from the business of everyday life. The messengers atop their special poles saying save our planet, save the earth from its own suicidal tendencies. This message can only be successfully transmitted if human transmitters do it together, focussed, in concert, combining the energies of lots of people at the same time. Fanciful you might say but overwhelmingly desirable, and inimitably Storm Thorgerson. The edition has been printed on a weighty Somerset paper by the esteemed Coriander Studios in London, UK. |

Storm In Heaven - Burning Car
Regular price $494.00 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 120): Computation results in '-Infinity'%
An amazing shot of The Verve that is presented here in a small edition of archival inkjet prints by the artist, Michael Spencer Jones. An incredible band, on their way up, shot in Billinge, Wigan. The burning car was bought from a local scrapyard before being driven under it’s own power to the shoot location. Each frame had a time span of no more than 15 seconds because the heat from the car became too intense and the band had to move. Hardy Northern rock and roll if we ever saw it. |

All the artwork published, printed or marketed by Hypergallery is of the highest quality. All artwork is printed on the finest paper stock by renowned and experience printers using traditional or modern techniques. They will either be signed by the artist or embossed with authentication.

Listed sizes are for approximate guidance only. If you require a precise measurement please get in touch.

This limited edition archival inkjet print features the cover that graced the first rock'n'roll record ever to top the Billboard Album Chart in 1956 - it spent ten weeks there selling over one million copies. The photograph was taken by William 'Red' Robertson and although it is unclear who was responsible for the iconic lettering, it is a design that has inspired much homage on covers. most notably including The Clash's 1979 London Calling and Tom Waits' 1985 Rain Dogs. Working from a print from the original negative Hypergallery have created a faithful reproduction of this iconic cover at more than twice the size of the original, printed with state of the art pigment and UV inks. Each print is numbered in pencil and bears the official Elvis Presley™ silhouette image. Each print is also embossed with the Elvis Presley™ estate's authentication, alongside our own hgEditions publication emboss. |

Regular price $494.00 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 120): Computation results in '-Infinity'%
50,000,000 fans but only 175 prints! This limited edition archival inkjet print celebrates Elvis' gold lame suit by famous Hollywood tailor Nudie Cohen, now on display at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Elvis Presley™'s album covers weren't known for their creativity but this cover by then RCA Art Director Bob Jones was an exception. Replicating the photograph at different sizes was a departure from the strict guidelines laid down by Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker. We knew that to do the artwork justice these prints had to be something really special and the printers (Senecio, Oxford, UK) have produced something truly fit for the king. Each print is numbered in pencil and bears the official Elvis Presley™ silhouette image. Each print is also embossed with the Elvis Presley™ estate's authentication, alongside Hypergallery's own publisher's mark. |

In these cases responsibility for the print lies with us until it has been recorded as delivered 'as authorised by' your agreement.

PRICING
The price of limited edition prints and collectables increases as the edition sells out. We reserve the right to increase the advertised price of the artwork without notice. The price of the artwork will be in force from the date of publication on the website.
VAT is chargeable on all UK sales. Sales to non-UK customers where the delivery is outside the UK will include a full commercial invoice to aid customs clearance on importation to the destination country. Local duties and taxes may be charged at that stage and are payable by the customer. We will endeavour to help predict these costs where possible and help our customers who are not accustomed to dealing with import duties, especially now that this has become necessary in Europe thanks to the UK's departure from the EU.
Payment made to the UK in other currencies will be converted to pounds sterling at the exchange rate current on the day of the transaction.
PAYMENT
We know how important it is that you feel secure about paying online. Hypergallery.com is hosted by Shopify and payments are handled by Shopify's own system. Shopify is Level 1 PCI DSS compliant by default so payment info and business data is kept safe. FRAMING
Prints come unframed. Measurements on product pages are approximate and frames should not be ordered based on these measurements. If you would like us to give you a mm accurate measurement please drop us a line.
RETURNS / REFUNDS
We take great care to ensure that your goods are delivered to you in perfect condition, so please do not accept delivery if there is obvious damage to the packaging. If you sign for the goods you are accepting delivery in perfect condition and the shipping agent cannot be held responsible for any damage.
