This limited edition archival inkjet print is one of a collection of 10cc artworks published by Hypergallery in 2012. The collection, 10 of 10cc, celebrates the wonderful work produced by Hipgnosis and StormStudios for 10cc, from the early days and throughout their career. Tenology, 10cc's greatest hits album released alongside these prints in 2012, features a five foot high Phrenology head with meticulously hand painted crazing. Storm felt that it said a lot about 10cc, that it said something about the headspace as well as the music space. Graham Gouldman echoed that sentiment, saying that the band had thought of their music as cerebral and multi-faceted. The very nature of a limited edition print is that it is limited, forever, to the total number detailed in the original edition. If your print is number 70 of 295 then it really is just that: the 70th numbered print in a total edition of 295.
There will also be Artists Proofs (APs) numbering up to a maximum of 10% of the edition, and sometimes Printer’s Proofs (PPs) which are usually kept by the printer, or Hors Commerce prints (HCs) which are used by the publisher for promotional purposes.
Sometimes limited editions are published at different sizes. This is OK, as long as the sizes are distinctly different and they should be published at the same time.

It might also mean that a print has been signed by the musician as well as the artist - for this reason sometimes you may see exactly the same print available at two different prices.
CARING FOR YOUR PRINT
We will wrap your print in acid-free tissue paper and ship it to you in a sturdy cardboard tube. When you take your print out of the tube it is a good idea to let it uncurl overnight on a flat surface before handling it. This will give the paper a chance to lose some of its springiness and make it much easier for you to handle. Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.
DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT
We recommend that you frame your print behind conservation quality glass or acrylic (most framers will offer this as standard) and make sure you use archival quality mount board. This way, your print will be free from any materials that might cause it damage.
UK orders will be dispatched by either Royal Mail First Class post, Special Delivery or by courier. Orders to the rest of the world are dispatched by Airmail or by international courier. In all cases, a contribution towards the packing and consignment cost will be added to your order and calculated at checkout.
Responsibility for the print lies with us until you receive and sign for it* and for this reason we insist on sending items over £150 by insured, sign-for shipping. All of our print shipments require signature upon delivery so please check the condition of the packaging before accepting it.
*If you have an agreement in place whereby delivery services are to leave parcels without obtaining a signature, as is often the case in the USA, our instruction for them to obtain a signature will be overridden. In these cases responsibility for the print lies with us until it has been recorded as delivered 'as authorised by' your agreement.

Fractured reflections making a successful whole seems rather appropriate under these circumstances. Storm gave the figures names, Graham and Eric, and proclaimed mirrors "a bugger to work with". We think the idea of mirrors as a portal to other worlds, often magical and imbued with significance, comes across beautifully in this otherwise classic Storm Thorgerson scenario - he loves his beaches. This Be-Bop Deluxe album cover design is one of a collection of archival inkjet prints that we released in 2014, celebrating previously unpublished album cover art from the Hipgnosis archives. Drastic Plastic was the last album by Be-Bop Deluxe, released in 1978. The material on the album marked a change in the musical direction of the band, with more synthpop and New Wave sounds alongside some of the progressive and glam standards. Hipgnosis took their cues from the title: 'drastic' as in vividly bright or primary colours and 'plastic' as in acrylic paint and shiny work tops. This was a purpose built set in the studio, like a kitchen area, a real place but geometric, a stylised slice of reality which might echo the music. We will wrap your print in acid-free tissue paper and ship it to you in a sturdy cardboard tube. When you take your print out of the tube it is a good idea to let it uncurl overnight on a flat surface before handling it. This will give the paper a chance to lose some of its springiness and make it much easier for you to handle. Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.
DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT
We recommend that you frame your print behind conservation quality glass or acrylic (most framers will offer this as standard) and make sure you use archival quality mount board. This way, your print will be free from any materials that might cause it damage.
UK orders will be dispatched by either Royal Mail First Class post, Special Delivery or by courier. Orders to the rest of the world are dispatched by Airmail or by international courier. In all cases, a contribution towards the packing and consignment cost will be added to your order and calculated at checkout.

The collection, 10 of 10cc, celebrates the wonderful work produced by Hipgnosis and StormStudios for 10cc, from the early days and throughout their career. The cover art for 1975's Original Soundtrack continued in the tradition of eclectic styles and ideas produced for them by Hipgnosis. It is the soundtrack for a film not yet made. Storm remembers thinking that the old Moviola 35mm editing equipment would make an interesting subject for such an album that called for something filmic. Hipgnosis turned to Humphrey Ocean (now an acclaimed Royal Academician but then not long out of art school) to make something more extraordinary of it than a simple photograph. This limited edition archival inkjet print is one of a collection of 10cc artworks published by Hypergallery in 2012. The collection, 10 of 10cc, celebrates the wonderful work produced by Hipgnosis and StormStudios for 10cc, from the early days and throughout their career. Deceptive Bends was the fourth album cover designed by Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell at Hipgnosis and by this time, in 1977, they were firmly established as 10cc's album cover designers. Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.
DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT
We recommend that you frame your print behind conservation quality glass or acrylic (most framers will offer this as standard) and make sure you use archival quality mount board. This way, your print will be free from any materials that might cause it damage.
UK orders will be dispatched by either Royal Mail First Class post, Special Delivery or by courier. Orders to the rest of the world are dispatched by Airmail or by international courier. The Physical Graffiti limited edition archival inkjet print was produced in an edition of 500 under the supervision of Aubrey Powell. Once he and Storm Thorgerson began pulling together original artwork for Hipgnosis designed album covers for Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, the project widened to include significant designs for Led Zeppelin by other artists, including this by Peter Corriston. Led Zeppelin's biggest album, Physical Graffiti, was originally designed to be the debut release on the Swan Song label but the elaborate cover art, featuring a New York City tenement with interchangeable images visible through the building's die-cut windows, forced a delay. Artist Peter Corriston worked with designer Mike Doud to convince Led Zeppelin manager, Peter Grant, that the cover art idea was a good one. The sleeve design was heavily influenced by Jose Feliciano's album, Compartments. An eclectic gallery of celebrities and icons inhabit the building and they can be spied through the windows. Amongst the tenants therein are Lee Harvey Oswald, Neil Armstrong, Elizabeth Taylor, Charles Atlas, Queen Elizabeth, Dante Gabriel Rossetti's portrait of Proserpine, the Virgin Mary and Laurel and Hardy. This limited edition archival inkjet print features the artwork from Pink Floyd's album The Later Years. The Later Years project was begun by Pink Floyd Creative Director Aubrey Powell (Hipgnosis) when he was asked to design a box set reflecting on the years 1987 to 2019 and all the work that had been put out during that time by Pink Floyd - both audio and visual. He looked around for a designer to collaborate with and chose the portfolio of Johnson Banks, a London based design studio. Michael Johnson came up with an idea that involved a suited businessman walking through a sunny landscape surrounded by distorted street lamps. Aubrey changed the brief to a young girl instead of a businessman and settled on an evening mood reminiscent of a Martian landscape, with the street lights twisting and turning as the girl walked past them. The influence of psychokinesis or the ability to move objects through the power of the mind was the thinking behind the fresh approach. A refection on the power that is Pink Floyd. The complicated process of post production was completed by Johnson Banks. There were many variations to choose from until Aubrey decided on the final picture. This limited edition archival inkjet print features the artwork from Pink Floyd's album The Later Years. It’s a black and white photograph of two men reading a white map. The photograph was shot by Aubrey Powell/Hipgnosis in Iceland in 1981 and was originally presented as an idea for the Pink Floyd Animals cover in 1977. The negatives lay unused and dormant in the Hipgnosis archive until last year 2019, when it was re-presented to Pink Floyd. They liked the fact that it was originally an idea for the band and had never been used before. When Roger Waters left the band in 1987 and there were only two members left, David Gilmour and Nick Mason were searching for a way to continue Pink Floyd. Electric Warrior

This limited edition silkscreen print of T.Rex's Electric Warrior album cover art has been signed by Bill Legend, the drummer and only surviving member of T.Rex. The photograph from which Aubrey Powell developed the cover was taken by Keiron Murphy, most notably responsible for some the most iconic images of John Lennon. Beck chose this cover (for Vanity Fair in 2001) as one of his top 50 album covers, and no wonder. The iconic stance of Bolan in the photograph accentuated by the heavenly, electric glow that surrounds him seems to us to be a homage not only to T. Rex but to rock music in general. Electric Warrior was the sixth album released by T.Rex but it propelled them into the charts becoming the biggest album of 1971 and one of the quintessential glam rock releases. It's appeal has lasted, though and it was ranked number 160 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2003. No wonder, as the album contains two of T. We will wrap your print in acid-free tissue paper and ship it to you in a sturdy cardboard tube. When you take your print out of the tube it is a good idea to let it uncurl overnight on a flat surface before handling it. This will give the paper a chance to lose some of its springiness and make it much easier for you to handle. Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.
DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT
We recommend that you frame your print behind conservation quality glass or acrylic (most framers will offer this as standard) and make sure you use archival quality mount board. This way, your print will be free from any materials that might cause it damage.
UK orders will be dispatched by either Royal Mail First Class post, Special Delivery or by courier. Orders to the rest of the world are dispatched by Airmail or by international courier. In all cases, a contribution towards the packing and consignment cost will be added to your order and calculated at checkout.
Responsibility for the print lies with us until you receive and sign for it* and for this reason we insist on sending items over £150 by insured, sign-for shipping. All of our print shipments require signature upon delivery so please check the condition of the packaging before accepting it.

Led Zeppelin II

This limited edition silkscreen and inkjet print pictures the famous Zeppelin airship imagery in an album cover design by David Juniper. In 1970, David Juniper was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Recording Package for this design, which was based on an old photograph of the Jasta Division of the German air force during World War One. The German air force used Zeppelins as airships for bombing military and civilian targets during the war. After the picture was tinted, the faces of the four members of the band were airbrushed on from a 1969 publicity photograph, as well as the faces of band manager Peter Grant and tour manager Richard Cole. The woman in the picture is Glynis Johns, the mother from Mary Poppins. Her presence in the photo is an obvious play on the name of recording engineer Glyn Johns. The other face added was that of bluesman Blind Willie Johnson. The cover also pictured the outline of a Zeppelin on a brown background, which gave the album its nickname "Brown Bomber". Led Zeppelin II was Led Zeppelin's first album to reach number one in the UK and the US. This print combines silkscreen and inkjet on a Somerset Velvet paper.

This limited edition print was published on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the release of the Stereophonics' platinum album Performance and Cocktails. Working with Kelly Jones, who was inspired by the Annie Leibovitz photograph Christmas at Soledad Prison, California 1971, Scarlet Page devised this dramatic scene, shot the photograph at a football pitch under the Westway, in London, in Autumn 1998. The shoot was completed in record time, with the pitch rented for only one hour, but the resulting photograph is enigmatic and refined. A memorable image.

This will give the paper a chance to lose some of its springiness and make it much easier for you to handle. Remember to wash your hands before handling your print and to take care not to scuff the surface of the image as some of the print surfaces are very delicate.
DISPLAYING YOUR PRINT
We recommend that you frame your print behind conservation quality glass or acrylic (most framers will offer this as standard) and make sure you use archival quality mount board. This way, your print will be free from any materials that might cause it damage.

This signed limited edition silkscreen print by Sir Peter Blake was published in 2011 and features the album cover artwork from Boogie For Stu. The album Boogie For Stu is a tribute to Ian Stewart, a pianist and founding member of the Rolling Stones who died of a sudden heart attack in 1985. A portrait of Stewart in oils by Sir Peter Blake was commissioned for the album artwork and a small edition of 100 silkscreen prints of the portrait was published, 10 of which were gifted to the artists who performed on the album. The album was dreamt up and produced by fellow pianist Ben Waters, a member of The A, B, C and D of Boogie Woogie. It was released in 2011, near the 25th anniversary of Stewart's death. Boogie For Stu ended up featuring some incredible talent whom Ian Stewart had worked with, and the album is named after the track Boogie With Stu which he had recorded with Led Zeppelin. The album also includes Bob Dylan’s Watchin' The River Flow featuring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman. There can also be printer's proofs which are taken for the printer to see how the image is printing, or are final impressions the printer is allowed to keep but normally the term "artist's proof" would cover both cases.
Artist's proofs are not included in the count of a limited edition, and they belong to the artist. By convention, the artist is not supposed to sell these at once.
COPYRIGHT
In most cases, if an album cover is a photograph then the photographer will own the copyright. Design work is a little more complicated and depends entirely on the contract drawn up at the time of the creation of the art.
Hypergallery doesn’t own the copyright to any of our prints, but in all cases we ensure that we have the permission of the copyright holder to produce the prints.
ATTRIBUTION
In many cases the creation of an album cover is a collaborative affair. Many album covers designs are attributed to artists who haven’t been directly involved in creating and signing the prints and we aim to make this as transparent and clear as possible in the product details.
ARCHIVAL INKJETS
Archival inkjet printing is also commonly referred to as Giclée. It denotes the high-quality ink-jet printing process which uses fade resistant, archival inks and archival substrates on large format printers to produce fine art prints.
Similarly, the term serigraph has been used to describe artistic use of the silkscreen process.
ARTISTIC ENHANCEMENT
With only a few unavoidable exceptions (when the artist is no longer alive) the prints sold by Hypergallery have been conceived, created, approved and signed by the artist themselves. In many cases the prints look quite different from the original album cover as we give the artist the chance to revisit their original artwork and rework it specifically as a print, without the restrictions of producing it as a mass market album cover.
COST
The value of a print increases as the edition sells out. You may see some prints on sale at a much higher price than others in the same collection and this will usually mean that less of these prints remain available on the primary market. It might also mean that a print has been signed by the musician as well as the artist - for this reason sometimes you may see exactly the same print available at two different prices.
