Scratch My Back is one of a collection of limited edition archival inkjet prints published to celebrate a catalogue of truly remarkable and unique soundworks by Peter Gabriel. Steve Gschmeissner discovered this image via a scanning electron microscope which uses a finely focused beam of electrons to construct a 3D image of each specimen that can be magnified up to a million times.
Real World designer Marc Bessant who selected and developed the image expands, as he told us

This archival inkjet print is one of a collection of fourteen editions, published in 2017 to celebrate the art of Corroncho2, an album by Phil Manzanera and Lucho Brieva.
Each track on the album represents a different chapter in the album’s story of two hapless compadres from the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
A unique image was designed to accompany each track by the Barcelona-based Brazilian artist, Bwokaa, who worked closely with Manzanera on the concept. Each of these artworks, along with the map that features on the CD itself, has been published in an edition of 30.
The prints are signed and titled in pencil by Manzanera, Brieva and Bwokaa. The editions were printed by VGL, a family-run screen and digital print studio based in the UK, and published by Hypergallery.
